Play Time is the new spring exhibition for 2023 at Newarke Houses

The exhibition includes toys, dolls, and teddies from the museum’s extensive collection. Highlights include a 1930s peddle car, dolls houses, lead soldiers and an array of dolls from a small wooden Dutch doll to imposing, talking dolls. 

The original DOMINOES toy sign will also be on display. The sign was collected by the museum service when the shop closed in 2013. This is the first time all the letters are on display since they became part of the museum collection.

The exhibition explores how learning through play has ignited children’s imagination and prepared them for their role in society. Not to mention providing endless hours of fun and pleasure.
