Leicester Art Week 2024

Leicester’s vibrant art scene comes together in collaboration to celebrate the visual arts across the city.

Throughout the week the city’s galleries and venues will be offering exhibitions, workshops and events that you can enjoy. Participating venues include Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, Attenborough Art Centre, Leicester Print Workshop, 2Queens, The Gallery (DMU), StudionAme, Phoenix, Soft Touch and the LCB Depot.

 

At Leicester Museum & Art Gallery you can view the wonderful exhibition India to Leicester: An Artist’s Journey, open every day throughout Art Week. This exhibition tells the story of local artist K. Koria and his drive to pursue a career in the arts. It explores his life from his early beginnings in India, to how he came to establish himself as the UK's first Asian Graphic Artist.

Special events to coincide with Art Week:

• Saturday 9th November,10am:
  India to Leicester: An Artist’s Journey Out of Hours Tour
  A pre-opening tour of K. Koria's paintings inspired by the rich culture of colourful India, with daughter of the artist Kranti Parekh.
  
  
• Sunday 10th November, 11am:
  Memory Box Show and Tell
  Bring your favourite greeting cards to share stories and memories at our memory box open mic show and tell event!
