Enjoy this talk by Senior Shoe Curator of Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, Rebecca Shawcross. Northampton Museum and Art Gallery is home to one of the largest collections of shoes and shoe heritage in the world. The collection's strength lies in its very broad range, from ancient Egypt to the latest fashions, from workwear to high-end designer creations and from Northamptonshire-made shoes to footwear from around the world.

Rebecca also the curator for the new Out of the Stories: Shoes exhibition at Newarke Houses. This talk will look at some of the amazing shoes in the collection and will also take a look at all the shoe related collections from shoe laces to buckles, tools to machines and photographs and catalogues.
