Shama Women’s Centre Museum Take Over

To celebrate International Women’s Day, on Saturday 8th March, Shama Women’s Centre will take over Leicester Museum & Art Gallery for an inspiring day of connection, empowerment, and celebration.

Since 1983, Shama Women’s Centre has supported over 50,000 women and their families, providing crucial services during times of trauma, including bereavement, domestic abuse, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the cost of living crisis. Through their initiatives, the Centre has also helped over 30,000 women gain accredited qualifications, with 76% securing employment, empowering women to become more active educationally, economically, and socially while improving their health and wellbeing.

This event is a testament to the resilience and achievements of women in our community. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, information, or a way to connect, there’s something for everyone.
