This summer, visitors to Leicester Museum & Art Gallery are invited to take a trip back in time with the nostalgia-filled exhibition, 'I Grew Up 80s'.

This national touring exhibition explores the cultural landscape of 1980’s Britain through the eyes of a child, discovering the vibrancy, quirkiness and innovation that defined the decade. From Betamax to BMX, Dirty Dancing to Donkey Kong, the Thompson Twins to Transformers, there is something for everyone.

'I Grew Up 80s' is a lovingly created time capsule of over two hundred treasures that showcase the youthful exuberance of the much-loved decade. Pull up your leg warmers and unscramble your Rubik’s cubes, because like Bill and Ted in their phone booth, or Marty McFly in his DeLorean, it’s time for a most excellent adventure.

Revisit the greatest decade in the history of history – the Eighties!

• Back to the 80s | Film season
  To complement the exhibition our friends at the Phoenix Leicester have put together a season of 80s film classic screenings to compliment the exhibition - all tickets just £3 too!
  


• 80s Quiz Night
  6pm - 9pm, Friday 29th July
  Fun quiz night and exclusive view of the 'I Grew Up 80s' exhibition.


• 80s Workout Classes
  Classic 80s style fitness class with aerobic dance moves and high energy - leg warmers optional!


• Download the 80s Troll Gallery Trail for children, to print at home and bring along to Leicester Museum & Art Gallery.
