Join us for a fun, action packed day out for all the family!

Join us for a fun, action packed day out for all the family at the 2024 Family Summer Fun Day at Abbey Pumping Station!

Recreating the atmosphere of a village Gala Day with a wide range of stalls, vintage vehicles on display and one of the majestic beam engines in steam.

A fun family event with games to play, plenty to see, and even coal fired chips freshly made from our very own vintage chip van.

The café will also be serving light refreshments on the day (cash only).

An array of vehicles will be on display in the grounds including Leicester Museum’s collection of historic Fire Engines.

Here’s just some of the exciting activities to enjoy:

• Ride the Steam Locomotive just 50p per ride on the day (purchase a ticket in the museum or pay by cash at the station platform).


• Gin and Cocktail Bar and vintage coal fired Chip Van.


• Live music with a vintage fair organ and Leicester Concert Band.


• Falconry displays.


• Craft Stalls

Event Parking: Parking is located at the National Space Centre situated next to the museum. The Space Centre car park is on Exploration Drive, post code LE4 5NS. The walkway entrance to Abbey Pumping Station is clearly signposted next to the car park.
