Sublime Symmetry Community Engagement
Published: 18 June 2020
Sublime Symmetry was a temporary exhibition which featured ceramics and tiles from the Arts & Crafts Movement with decorations inspired by Islamic design.
The exhibition linked to maths as many of the designs featured symmetry, so alongside tours for a range of community groups, family learning activities were offered for home schooled groups of Mums and children. These linked art and maths and led to many repeat visits to the exhibition and to the museum generally by families who had never visited museums before.
This work was part of Leicester Museums & Galleries Community Engagement programme of activities.
