Museum Trustees Wanted
Would you like to be involved in the acquisition of items for the collections of the Leicester Museums & Galleries?
Published: 18 January 2021
The City of Leicester Museums’ Trust is a registered charity whose purpose is to promote the work and collections of the Leicester Museums. We support the fulltime members of the Museum Service by purchasing relevant objects and exhibits for the collections. Purchases are funded largely through public donation boxes in our museums and galleries, together with private donations, bequests and grants.
We are looking for two individuals to join the board of Trustees due to recent trustee retirements. If you have an interest in museums and galleries and a passion for the city of Leicester’s vibrant and rich multicultural heritage, we encourage you to consider this unique opportunity. We would like to encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds who can contribute their skills and experience to the Trust.
The role is voluntary; Trustees receive no remuneration or expenses. Four meetings are held per year, normally at New Walk Museum, Leicester, or digitally via conference video calls when necessary.
