FREE Discover Arts Award at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery

Would your child like to engage in exciting arts activities over the summer holidays? Get involved in this amazing opportunity to gain an introductory award whilst having fun.

The Discover Arts Award is suitable for ages 9 to 12

To achieve the Arts Award Discover, your child will collect evidence in an individual arts log of their experiences of:

  • Taking part in arts activities
  • Researching artists and their work
  • Sharing their arts discoveries with family, carers, and friends

These activities are inspired by the exhibitions at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery.

How to take part

Arts Award Activities are taking place at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery.

The sessions take place from 10am to 12.30pm on: 

  1. Monday 26th and Tuesday 27thJuly   - Printmaking
  2. Monday 2ndand Tuesday 3rd August - Sculpture
  3. Monday 9thand Tuesday 10thAugust - Mixed media

Your child must attend 1 of the above options on both days, to get the full experience and achieve the Arts Award Discover.

COVID-19 measures will be put in place for these sessions. We will have smaller groups of up to 15, socially distanced and sanitised workstations and shorter sessions.

The sessions will be delivered by the Children and Young People’s Officer, Manjit Garcha and an artist.

Please note

  • Places are limited to 15 children per session.
  • Participating children need to be accompanied by an adult, who can stay on the premises.
  • No food or drink will be provided in the session.
  • If your child feels unwell or shows any symptoms of COVID-19 we ask you not to bring them to the session.
