We are decking the halls and getting into the festive spirit with activities that children and adults will love. Enjoy our festive steam train, stories with Santa, live music and storytelling. There are opportunities for Christmas shopping, festive crafts and much, much more!
Experience the Victorian splendour of Abbey Pumping Station at the popular Christmas Steam Day on Sunday 1 Dec where kids can ride the festive vintage steam railway! Or come along to create your own crafty dinosaur and traditional decorations at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday 7 December. Leicester’s historic medieval Guildhall has lots on for all ages, including North Pole Tales for under 5s and join Mr Dickens on a magical history tour.

If you are looking for a Christmas experience with a twist for older children and adults, why not join us at Guildhall for Santa’s Magical History tour presents Krampus, or for a chilling Christmas Ghost story on Monday 9 December and Friday 13th December.
Christmas Craft
Feeling inspired? Why not try your hand at wreath making at Newarke Houses on Sunday 1 December and Guildhall on Saturday 7 December.
Shopping
There’s lots of shopping opportunities with individual and locally made items at the Guildhall Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday 30 Nov & Sun 1 Dec.
Visit Leicester Museum and Gallery’s Christmas late opening until 7.30pm at on Saturday 7 December. Enjoy drinks from the bar and mice pies while you shop with 10% off your Christmas gift purchases all day and craft activities for families until 4pm. All purchases help to support your museum!
