Spark Takeover Day – February 2020
A museum takeover day as part of The Spark Festival 2020, involved 20 pupils from two local schools Overdale Junior and Mellor Primary schools. The pupils visited the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery on two separate occasions to develop their ideas and participate in creative workshops led by an artist facilitator.
The young people devised, created, planned and problem solved through all aspects of putting on a large public event at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, with help and guidance from an artist facilitator. This was a great experience of programming, events, teamwork and making decisions which they took back to school and put into practice through their role as a creativity councillor.
