As part of a major capital investment in Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, we are currently working to create a range of new galleries. This means that some of our galleries are closed.

From the 1st September 2024, Wild Space, the Den and the ground floor art galleries will be closed. Our usual school lunchroom and adjacent toilets will also be closed. The new art galleries and our lunchroom will reopen in late 2025.

During these works, we will only be able to offer our Life in Ancient Egypt: Meet the Mummies curriculum enrichment session at the Museum.  We have some new free self-led 'I Spy' trails for use in the Dinosaur and Leicester Stories galleries. Lunch space will be provided in the Refreshment area, which is adjacent to the main toilets. There will be no cost for using this lunch space. Please see our updated floorplans for details of which galleries are open for your visit.
