Archaeological Finds
Public finds identification service; archaeological object finds can be brought in to Newarke Houses Museum for identification.
The period of time taken to identify objects and provide a report can vary from item to item due to factors such as the necessity for further specialist knowledge. If you fail to retrieve your objects within three months after being told that they are ready for collection, then we reserve the right to dispose of your items.
Leicester Museums & Galleries Collections Development Policy
The Collections Development Plan outlines our collections and our plans for developing them over the period 2018 – 2024.
The Leicester Museums & Galleries Service have a wide variety and range of collections which reflect the historical and contemporary importance of Leicester, its companies, people and stories. They also reflect a broader historical and contemporary look at local, national and international arts.
The policy outlines how we plan to continue to collect moving forward, and ensure that the collections reflect the diverse narrative of the city or Leicester.
