Come and explore highlights from the Council’s Photographic Archive

Archive Sundays

Come and explore some of the highlights of the Council’s Photographic collection with Archive Sundays. See themed digital exhibitions created by volunteers, on display at three of Leicester's Museums this autumn!

Archive Sundays is a project created by Leicester Museums Volunteers who are working on digitising the City Council’s vast collection of photographic negatives. The archive currently contains over 100,000 images that provide a photographic record of Leicester and how the city has changed over the last 70 years, with thousands more to be discovered.

Volunteers select photographs which centre around a chosen theme to create digital exhibitions which can then be showcased to members of the public.
