Description
New exhibition for the New Year!
EXHIBITION ON AT NEWARKE HOUSES MUSEUM - find directions HERE.
This new exhibition celebrates the work of one of Britain’s best known children’s author–illustrators; Judith Kerr. Generations of children have been delighted by the illustrated story first published in 1968. Now this delightful book is brought to life for a new generation of family audiences.
The Tiger Who Came To Tea features artwork, notes and sketches. Children will enjoy stepping into Sophie’s kitchen to have tea with a life-size tiger! As well as dress up, puzzles, games and lots of Tiger-related activities to appeal to all audiences!
The exhibition also explores Judith's childhood and her experiences of having to escape Germany as Hitler came to power. Some of the themes explore travelling across Europe as a refugee before settling in London in 1936.
