How to get here
We encourage walking, cycling and the use of public transport to visit our museum venues when possible. All text directions below start at The Clock Tower in Leicester City Centre.

Walking
13 mins walk - With the Clock Tower to your back, walk in the direction of the Sporting Success statue next to HSBC. Pass HSBC on your left and continue walking up Gallowtree Gate towards the grand NatWest building. Pass the Visit Leicester Information Centre on your right then turn right onto Horsefair Street and pass the fountains of Town Hall Square. At the McDonalds, turn left into the pedestrianised Market Street. Carefully cross Belvoir Street, bearing right onto King Street. On King Street, turn left to join the pedestrianised New Walk. Continue walking up New Walk for around 4 minutes until you reach Leicester Museum & Art Gallery
Cycling
5 mins cycle - Starting from the Clock Tower, cycle along Gallowtree Gate. Continue on to Granby Street using the contraflow cycle track then take the right turn on to Belvoir Street. Cycle along Belvoir Street until the third left turn that takes you onto King Street, immediately bear right to remain on King Street and join the shared space area. Travel along King Street before taking the first left onto Princess Road West. As you come to the end of Princess Road West New Walk Museum is your left. Dismount your bicycle and walk through Museum Square Park where you will find the entrance of the museum facing New Walk. There is an area with rails to secure your bicycle in the museum car park.

Follow signs for Leicester City Centre. For Sat Nav directions to access our car park, please use: Princess Road West, LE1 6TR (via West Street).
