Studios and Makers’ Spaces

There are a wide selection of artist studios and makers’ spaces available in Leicester, with St George’s Cultural Quarter host to Two Queens, StudionAme, Makers Yard and Leicester Print Workshop. Knighton Lane Artists also run a fully functioning studio three miles from the city centre.

Creative Business Workspace

If you are looking for office space to develop your creative business, LCB Depot offer workspaces, business lounge membership, postal address service and free Wi-Fi at Phoenix Square and Leicester Creative Business Depot, Rutland Street.

De Montfort University offer workspaces and support services for start-up ventures at The Innovation Centre, located on the university campus. The Innovation Centre includes a co-worker café and postal address service, with workspaces and meeting rooms available to lease on both temporary and long-term schemes. 

Exhibition Spaces and Galleries  

Spaces to exhibit and display work in Leicester are growing and evolving. There are a number of venues for solo and groups shows, with various options at LCB Depot including their Lightbox Gallery. Art at the Chapel are a local arts collective that run regular pop-up exhibitions at Bishop Street Methodist Church., and at Leicester Adult Education College, local artists have the opportunity to exhibit work at the Old Library Cafe Gallery in exchange for running workshops or giving demonstrations. Most of Leicester’s artists’ studios host exhibitions and members’ shows in their own studio-based galleries. For information on local artist’s exhibitions see the Creative Leicestershire Bulletin.
